Being someone who travels a lot, to be specific 28 cities in 2 years, One thing I am obsessed with is planning. So much so that when I book my flights, I like to research on which side of the plane would I need to sit to get a better view from the window.

Shockingly there are no tools or apps out there that give this information. Currently, it's quite a bit of a manual process.

What does Window Sight do?

This tool allows the user to pick a flight based on the flight number and the airports it's flying from and to. Based on the selection, the tool tells you which side of the plane one must sit on and not just that, additionally, it also shows you the view you will see if you choose to sit on this side.

MVP Design

  1. With this launch, you can expect:

  2. A limited set of flight numbers to choose from.

  3. Responsive website

  4. Get quick answers to your doubt about which side you must sit on without the hassle of all the research.

  5. Media supporting the suggestion.

  6. A simple UI.

  7. Each flight number is designed keeping in mind the destination country and they represent that country's flag.

Learnings

With this project, I had to go through the process of selecting an area of problem and then drill down on one problem I want to solve in that sector. For example, I chose travel, but with so many products already existing, I wanted to chose a very niche problem to work on.

This projected helped me improve my coding skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript.

It helped me do an entire process of designing something visually, develop the user experience for it and translate that into code. It provided me with a lot of confidence (to work with or guide developers in the future as I now know how to make it myself.)
